Work Until You No Longer Have Any Excuses
"Oh No, this service requires that I have
an account with a PRO. Guess I'll be doing this later... "
DO IT NOW
"Oh I need my music copyrighted? Well,
let me just think about that while I go back to my dead end
9-5 and dream of being a superstar"
GET OFF YOUR ASS
"Woaw... woaw there, you need how much
to shoot my music video? I don't know, I needed this for beer
money you know... "
GET SERIOUS
If you're just dying to get back to whatever
the hell it is that you do to supplement your income while
your music goes nowhere then that's fine, continue wasting
your life.
Yeah I said it, L-I-F-E.
Stop the shenanigans already and face mortality.
We're all going to be dust one day and the only thing of you
that'll be left behind is your music (and possibly your offspring,
but if they have the same work ethic as you and followed your
example then they'll also be worthless ash). I am a professional
musician. People tend to ask why I stress the "professional"
so much and it's quite simple; this is a lifestyle. This is
literally a full time job with no guaranteed wage and no sick
time. Theirs no holiday pay, no health insurance, and definitely
no lunch breaks.
Theirs plenty of overtime though! Oh is there
plenty of got-damn overtime...
Some days you'll wonder how life would've
been if you stayed in the office and worked your way up the
corporate ladder. Then you'll of course remember all the times
your own real life version of Bill Lumbergh would stop by
your desk to give out the daily dose of breath on the back
of your neck. There's a better world out there for you folks,
and you're pissing away your ancestor's investment.
So let's take this one step at a time. Let's
build one fan at a time, one song at a time... until we no
longer have any excuses. Once music becomes your full time
job I guarantee you'll have no more excuses because those
lights will need to stay on and the only way you're gonna
do that is if you stop the tomfoolery and get down to business.
"Break the rules! Not the law, Break the
rules!"
Everyone had to start somewhere. Find yourself
a work ethic and stick to it.
No excuses.
